Overview
We are seeking dedicated General Medicine Physicians to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This role requires either a fully equipped private practice or nearby facility within 50 miles of the assigned location. The position is ideal for physicians with a background in family or internal medicine, orthopedics, or similar fields, looking to make a meaningful difference while enjoying flexible scheduling and attractive compensation.
The position begins February 13, 2026, with ongoing opportunities and competitive hourly pay.
Required Skills
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Active medical license in Texas
- Proven experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or general medical practice
- Familiarity with Compensation & Pension evaluations and veteran healthcare desired
- Excellent interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a private office or VES facility within designated radius
- Prior experience with veteran healthcare assessments
- Certification or training related to compensation and pension examinations
- Familiarity with medical documentation and report submission processes
- Additional certifications such as DMA or related credentials
- MD or DO with a minimum of 2 years clinical practice experience
- Prior experience performing medical exams for the VA or similar government agencies is a plus
- Own fully-equipped medical office within 50 miles of Houston, TX (for providers operating their own practice)
- Ability to work on a PRN basis, with options for half-day or full-day shifts
- No travel reimbursements outside of the rates stated; no additional payment for certifications or portal training before start
- Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding licensure and medical practice
Hourly Pay Rate: $624.00
