VHS is actively seeking dedicated General Medicine Physicians to provide critical healthcare services through flexible locum positions.

As a provider, you will perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, playing a vital role in supporting our Nation’s Veterans with professionalism and compassion.

Required Skills:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Valid state medical license for Texas
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related fields
• Experience in general medicine practice, with familiarity in compensation and pension evaluations preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills including history taking and physical examinations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage schedules effectively

• Prior experience performing VA exams or in a military healthcare setting
• Knowledge of VA-specific protocols and documentation requirements
• Skills in physical assessment techniques such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Comfortable working with electronic medical records and reporting systems

• MD or DO degree, with at least 2 years of post-residency clinical experience
• Prior experience in disability evaluation or veteran healthcare settings is highly valued
• Demonstrated ability to perform concise, thorough evaluations within tight time frames

• This is a PRN, ongoing position with flexible scheduling options including half-day or full-day shifts
• Providers must have their own office for those seeking to see Veterans outside of a VES facility; the office must be within 50 miles of the specified city
• All work is primarily interview-based, with some physical assessments; no treatment or prescribing involved
• Willingness to perform periodic administrative follow-ups such as report writing and addendums
• Local candidates only, with travel included in rates

• Hourly rate of $624.00, with flat rates of $800 for half-day shifts and $1600 for full days
• One-time bonus of $650 upon completing initial training and first exams
