Join Our Team as a Locum Physician – General Medicine in Houston, TX and Make a Difference!

Are you a dedicated General Medicine provider seeking flexible, impactful work that supports our nation's Veterans? We are looking for committed physicians to join our team as a Locum – Physician - General Medicine, offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to vital assessment services while enjoying competitive compensation and versatile scheduling.

As a key member of our team, you will perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across the country, helping Veterans receive the benefits they deserve.

This role offers the flexibility to work on a PRN basis, with options for full or half-day shifts, tailored to your availability and preferences. Whether you prefer working in your own office within 50 miles of your home or at a VES facility, this role is designed to fit your lifestyle while making a meaningful impact.

Required Skills:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with licensure in Texas.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related fields.
  • Experience in general medicine and assessment-based care.
  • Ability to conduct interviews, physical exams, and range of motion testing.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to operate independently and adhere to protocols.
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams.
  • Knowledge of veterans’ healthcare needs.
  • Familiarity with medical reporting and documentation procedures.
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in primary care or related fields.
  • Experience with assessment exams or work with veteran populations is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
  • Candidate must have their own medical office within 50 miles of the specified locations (Gassaway, WV or Nutter Fort, WV).
  • Willingness to perform administrative follow-ups such as report writing and addendums.
  • No travel reimbursement; travel is included in the rate.
  • Ready to accept the rate structure of $800 per half-day (4 hours or less) and $1600 per full day (5 hours or more).
  • Completion of training and initial exams bonus of $650 applies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including 4-hour or 8-hour shifts.
