Are you a dedicated General Medicine provider seeking flexible, impactful work that supports our nation's Veterans? We are looking for committed physicians to join our team as a Locum – Physician - General Medicine, offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to vital assessment services while enjoying competitive compensation and versatile scheduling.
As a key member of our team, you will perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across the country, helping Veterans receive the benefits they deserve.
This role offers the flexibility to work on a PRN basis, with options for full or half-day shifts, tailored to your availability and preferences. Whether you prefer working in your own office within 50 miles of your home or at a VES facility, this role is designed to fit your lifestyle while making a meaningful impact.
Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with licensure in Texas.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related fields.
- Experience in general medicine and assessment-based care.
- Ability to conduct interviews, physical exams, and range of motion testing.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to operate independently and adhere to protocols.
Skills:
- Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams.
- Knowledge of veterans’ healthcare needs.
- Familiarity with medical reporting and documentation procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in primary care or related fields.
- Experience with assessment exams or work with veteran populations is advantageous.
- Candidate must have their own medical office within 50 miles of the specified locations (Gassaway, WV or Nutter Fort, WV).
- Willingness to perform administrative follow-ups such as report writing and addendums.
- No travel reimbursement; travel is included in the rate.
- Ready to accept the rate structure of $800 per half-day (4 hours or less) and $1600 per full day (5 hours or more).
- Completion of training and initial exams bonus of $650 applies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including 4-hour or 8-hour shifts.
