Harris Health System is seeking a Physician to join the Correctional Health team at the 701 Clinic for 12-hour night shifts
.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-impact, mission-driven environment
, providing comprehensive care to individuals housed in the Harris County Jail.
Responsibilities include conducting intake assessments
, managing urgent and chronic conditions
, and collaborating with advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams. You will work closely with Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies
, nursing staff, and on-site services such as radiology, pharmacy, laboratory, dental, and nutrition services.
You will also coordinate with external hospitals when higher-level care is required and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.

- Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certified or Board-Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
- Must obtain and maintain board certification within required timeframe
- Licensure:
- Active Texas Medical Board license
- Active DEA license
- Experience:
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited 3- or 4-year residency program
