Job SummaryAs a Regional Psychiatrist, you will oversee the psychiatric clinical programs in Nevada, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. You will conduct evaluations and assessments for new patients, develop care plans, manage medication, and communicate with nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Duties / Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide medication management, evaluate effectiveness and side effects, prescribe medication, and adjust dosages.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and diagnosis codes.
- Provide clinical oversight and review of medical documentation created by PMHNPs in the Idaho practice.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals—therapists, psychologists, social workers—to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to provide updates on patient progress and coordinate care.
- Attend training and continuing education programs to stay current on best practices and new research in psychiatry.

- Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry and at least two years of post‑residency experience in a psychiatric facility.
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- Licensure as a physician in the applicable state.
- License by the applicable State Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances.
- Valid state driver’s license (may be required).
- Knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry; current developments in the field; hospital and clinic organization, management, and procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and treat severely and persistently mentally ill patients.
- Ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action.
- Ability to prepare records and reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.
