Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist to join their collaborative team, focusing on overnight shifts. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, ensuring 24/7 care continuity, and contributing to the hospital's mission of safety, quality, service, and innovation. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting Houston Methodist's commitment to leading medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and managing medical emergencies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services, to deliver high-quality care
  • Ensure timely communication with patients, families, and referring physicians to facilitate care transitions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety measures, and hospital protocols
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with medical records and billing standards
  • Support the training and development of residents and medical students, as applicable

Shift & Schedule

  • Full-time, 7-on/7-off Hospitalist schedule, 12-hour shifts

Requirements

  • Education:

    Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Licensure/Certification:
    Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Active Texas Medical License or eligibility for licensure in Texas
  • Prior experience in a hospitalist or nocturnist role preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage acute inpatient care efficiently
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
