Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist to join their collaborative team, focusing on overnight shifts. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, ensuring 24/7 care continuity, and contributing to the hospital's mission of safety, quality, service, and innovation. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting Houston Methodist's commitment to leading medicine.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and managing medical emergencies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services, to deliver high-quality care
- Ensure timely communication with patients, families, and referring physicians to facilitate care transitions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety measures, and hospital protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with medical records and billing standards
- Support the training and development of residents and medical students, as applicable

Shift & Schedule
- Full-time, 7-on/7-off Hospitalist schedule, 12-hour shifts
Requirements
- Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) - Licensure/Certification:
Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine - Active Texas Medical License or eligibility for licensure in Texas
- Prior experience in a hospitalist or nocturnist role preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage acute inpatient care efficiently
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning
