* Position Summary:

**# Responsibilities include patient recruitment, conducting assessments, managing clinical protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Assists physician in the care and teaching of patients. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a blend of clinical and research expertise are essential for this role.#
** Key Performance Areas:
*** Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement care plans, and monitor patient progress according to the specific study protocol.
* Assist in the implementation of clinical trial protocols, including building out regimens in EMR, screening, and enrolling study participants.
* Ensure accuracy and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements.
* Provide education to participants about study protocols, potential risks, and benefits, ensuring informed consent is obtained.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including investigators, coordinators, and study sponsors/CROs, to facilitate smooth trial operations.
* Monitor, document, and report adverse events and other safety-related issues promptly to maintain participant safety and regulatory compliance.
* Ensure all activities adhere to institutional policies, federal regulations, and ethical guidelines throughout the research process.
* Stay current with advancements in clinical research, therapeutics, and relevant medical guidelines; participate in training and professional development activities.
* Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.
* Write prescriptions for: medication, blood products based upon laboratory results, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and care post-discharge in accordance with written practice protocols.
* Based on findings, determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials.
* Interpret and evaluates findings of studies / tests.
* Relay appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
* Administer therapeutic measures / obtains specimens as prescribed.
* Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians with summaries of treatment, response and plan.
* Dictate or writes patient history, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes in a timely manner.
* Assist in the management of family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients’ care.
* Conduct or participate in daily multi-disciplinary rounds for assigned patients to ensure patients are receiving appropriate and quality care.
* Provide on-call coverage and performs hospital rounds as needed.
* Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
* Document and reports care in an accurate, timely manner using appropriate forms and records.
* Demonstrate a willingness to learn and to remain flexible in the changing health care environronment.
* Assist staff in times of crisis or emergency.
* Meet with the public outside the institution and efficiently market and promote cancer treatment.
* Determine work priorities, assign work and insure proper completion of work assignments.
