Part-Time Specialist III, Financial Aid at Lone Star College
Location:
Kingwood, TX (Kingwood Drive 20000, Kingwood, TX 77339).
The PT Specialist III - Financial Aid is responsible for the timely completion of all financial aid applications, including FAFSA and scholarships and documentation. The incumbent assists with guidelines and documentation for satisfactory academic progress, informs students of their Financial Aid Application status, helps students complete all necessary documentation/processes to assure the disbursement of funds they are eligible for, and identifies any special circumstances that might qualify students for additional Financial Aid.
EssentialJob Functions
- Assist students with the completion of all necessary documentation/processes
- Analyze documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Record and scan documents to keep the system informed for review
- Inform students of their Financial Aid Application status, including visiting classrooms to provide information
- Assist with demographic corrections (e.g., date of birth, name, or social security number)
- Analyze fee charges for attendance
- Prepare appeals for the committee
- Identify special circumstances that may qualify students for additional Financial Aid
- File and organize documents in the office
- Stay up to date with Financial Aid upgrades, terms, and conditions for annual workshops
- Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned

The work is sedentary with potential for some walking, standing, bending, and light lifting. No special physical demands are required.
Work Schedule And Conditions- Equipment includes PC workstation, calculator, phone, and general office equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal safety hazards
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be in good standing with the Department of Education
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
Hourly pay rate is $15.60
