The Lycée International de Houston, LIH, wasestablishedin 2017 by passionate individuals from different cultural backgrounds and founders who recognized the need for a bilingual school in the Houston community. Their goal was to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in an ever-growing multicultural global society. As the sole accredited 18-month through 12th-grade bilingual school in Houston, the Lycée International de Houston offers a unique dual-language immersion program in both French and English.

By combining the analytical thinking methods of the French Ministry of Education (AEFE) with the dynamic American Curriculum, the schoolremainsdedicated tomaintainingacademic excellence. The Lycée International de Houston has obtained accreditations by esteemed organizations such as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization, the French Ministry of Education, and Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools (TAAPS). Additionally, our school is affiliated with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE).

Job Description

Lycée International de Houston Pre-School Section is seeking English Homeroom Pre-School Teachers (PK3-KG) for the  School Year. Lycée International de Houston is looking for an energetic candidate who embodies excellence, rigor, and kindness. As part of our bilingual school, our vision is to prepare multilingual, academically, and socially prepared students to become leaders and positively impact their communities. We seek creative teachers who will interact meaningfully and make a lasting impact on our students and colleagues in a professional setting.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in early Learning Education, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of full-timepre-school teaching experience(PK3-KG)
  • Strong command of English (native or near-nativeproficiency)
    Spanish a plus.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Experience in an independent, private, or international school setting
  • ESL or EAL certification/experience
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based or international educational approaches
  • Demonstratedproficiencywith digital tools and platforms (learning management systems, electronic grade books, online instructional tools, and classroom technology)

Elementary teachers at LIH are expected to:
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of English as an Additional Language (EAL) students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum.
  • Teach foundational literacy, numeracy, science, and arts conceptsappropriate forPre-School learners.
  • Assess student learning,monitorprogress, and providetimelyfeedback
  • Maintain effective classroom management and consistent expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices
  • Communicate regularly with familiesregardingstudent progress and development
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Support school operations through supervision duties (arrival, lunch, recess, dismissal)
  • Contribute to extracurricular and community activities as appropriate
