The Department of Chemistry at Rice University in Houston, Texas seeks applicants for a full-time (9-month) non-tenure-track teaching faculty position in Chemistry. The rank of appointment may range from Lecturer to Teaching Professor, depending on candidate qualifications. This position has a start date of July 1, 2026.

Duties will primarily include supporting the undergraduate organic chemistry program by presenting lectures and leading discussion sections. There will also be an opportunity to teach organic chemistry in summer school for additional compensation. Other teaching assignments are possible, depending on departmental needs and candidate qualifications, and service at the departmental and university levels is also expected.

This position requires a doctoral degree in chemistry or a closely related field (preferably with organic expertise) and previous teaching experience. All PhD degree requirements must be completed by July 1, 2026.
