Exempt Days: 188 days (Flexible, 8 hours per week) Daily/Hourly Rate: $30.00 per hour

Purpose:

Responsible for delivering small group and individualized services to identified students in the area of math, reading and science. Qualifications/

Skills:

Education/Certification:

* Bachelor's degree in related field.

* Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position required.

* Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Knowledge of procedures, student appraisal and career development.

* Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.

* Willingness to learn, acquire and apply new skills.

Experience:

* Minimum three (3) years experience working with children in an educational setting.

Major Duties and

Responsibilities:
Instructional Strategies:

* Provide small group / individualized instruction using literacy, math, and science strategies and materials.

* Participate in collegial dialogue sessions with teachers regarding student progress.

* Maintain accurate records on each child as a basis for instruction.

Communication:

* Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals and teachers. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members.

* Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Professional Growth and Development:

* Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. Keep informed of and comply with state, district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.

* Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerizes reports, records and other documents required.

* Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Other:

* Perform other duties as assigned.
