Job Goal:

Develop and implement effective processes for managing the Civics Training Program (CTP) Grant Award, including grant administration, technical assistance, and data collection to support participating school districts and charter schools. The Regional Coordinator will prepare required reports and engage in regular meetings with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) throughout the grant period. As needed, the Regional Coordinator, Civics Training may also provide CTP-related professional development to LEAs.

Qualifications:

Education

* Master's degree from an accredited university

* Coursework in education management/leadership (preferred)

* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)

Certification/Licensure

Texas Teacher Certificate

Experience

* Experience managing large-scale projects and/or budgets exceeding $500,000

* Demonstrated success meeting ambitious project timelines and goals

* Experience supporting LEAs with grant budgeting, compliance, and implementation aligned to approved grant applications

* Experience providing technical assistance, training support, or customer service to LEAs

* Experience working within or alongside an educational entity (preferred)

Special Knowledge and Skills

* Broad-based knowledge of project management practices

* Exceptional written and oral communication skills

* Familiarity with TEA strategic priorities, initiatives, and grant structures

* Ability to organize and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines with high attention to detail

* Ability to deliver professional development to adult learners

* Strong analytical and strategic-thinking skills

* Exemplary time management and organizational abilities

* Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and maintain strong, positive working relationships

* Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite

* Experience with data dashboards and reporting tools (i.e., )

Major Responsibilities:

* Maintain regular communication with the Department Director regarding progress and status of grant-related activities

* Provide leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to assist LEAs in analyzing, interpreting, and documenting compliance with grant requirements

* Conduct outreach to promote the Civics Training Program, upcoming sessions, and recruitment of host site locations

* Establish and maintain a system, in collaboration with the Office Assistant, for tracking and reporting budgetary expenditures

* Remain current with federal and state rules, regulations, and policies relevant to project responsibilities, and comply with all Region 4 ESC and departmental procedures

* Communicate program information, updates, and announcements through stakeholder meetings, the project website, listserv communications, and CTP session materials

* Ensure all CTP grant goals are met or exceeded within required timelines and budget parameters

* Deliver high-quality technical assistance and services to LEAs as defined by the grant requirements

* Assign CTP trainers to Region 4 sessions and collaborate with host sites for scheduling and logistics

* Deliver CTP-approved professional development sessions to educators (as assigned).

* Attend mandatory TEA trainings related to CTP implementation

* Coordinate travel arrangements for CTP trainers

* Conduct program evaluations and support any TEA-required reporting or analysis

* Respond promptly and professionally to district and campus inquiries

* Respond to TEA requests for information in a timely and accurate manner

Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds); may require prolonged and irregular work hours; occasional statewide travel; ability to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.
