JOB SUMMARYThe responsibilities of a school lunch monitor include monitoring students and their behavior during meals in the lunchroom and referring problems to the principal or designated teacher. You ensure each meal service flows smoothly while communicating with staff and students professionally and positively. You assist with cafeteria clean-up and recycling, encourage good table manners and cleanliness, and dismiss students at the scheduled time.
In elementary schools, yuo help open packages and milk cartons, cut food, clean up spills, accompany children to the bathroom, to the nurse, and more. Other duties may include attending training sessions, meetings, and deep cleaning equipment as needed.
Minimum:
High school diploma or GED certificate.

- Basic computer skills preferred
- Operate specialized food service equipment.
- Assist in food production, service and/or cleanup tasks as assigned. Receive and unpack food and supplies.
- Clean and maintain food service equipment and facilities. Participate in ongoing professional training.
- Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and uses hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Education and/or
