Job DescriptionBasic Function: The Work and Learn Center is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual who is passionate about working with young adults in an innovative program. The Support Specialist’s primary responsibilities will support the Work and Learn Center through data management, student outreach and social media marketing. We are seeking an individual to be a member of an engaging atmosphere designed to help young people 16-24 years fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, mental, and social growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High Diploma or GED Required
- Strongly prefer 2 years of experience working with young adults and youth culture.
- Proficiency with data collection and reporting
- Proficiency in social media platforms for program outreach and marketing.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly desired
- General knowledge of communication outreach, curriculum, and instruction.
- Ability to connect with students and positively influence their behavior.
- Ability to build a social media presence based around youth culture.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage data tracking and outcomes for the program.
- Coordinate with partners, recruiters, and key stakeholders to place participants in employment opportunities and internships/externships.
- Maintains student and program data and provides regular reports to leadership.
- Connect students to needed resources including basic needs, mental health support, educational programs, and financial aid.
- Collaborate with team members to manage program schedule and student retention.
- Execute program outreach activities through social media and networking with community service providers.
- Support the planning and coordination of outreach and networking events.
- Implements day-to-day business and administrative activities for the program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience working with opportunity youth or diverse underserved populations.
- Ability to coordinate with professionals from diverse backgrounds working to support student career and educational goals.
- Excellent oral and written language skills, presentation, and public relations skills.
- Skilled with social media platforms and digital marketing.
- Must be able to behave in a considerate manner with others regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, disability, or beliefs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to maintain accurate data and reporting records.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel. Proficiency with Canva Pro for presentations
Physical and Mental Requirements: Maintain emotional control under stress. Ability to read, analyze and interpret data and information for effective classroom presentation. Ability to actively engage students in the learning process. Ability to effectively resolve student concerns and manage the classroom in a positive, constructive way. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of people.
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Frequent speaking and listening, reading, writing, and using computers. Ability to lift and move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.

Job Requirements- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
