Summary
The Community Relations & Special Events Associate supports educational, training, and outreach initiatives for the Section of Gastroenterology within the Department of Medicine. This role coordinates logistics and stakeholder engagement for faculty- and trainee-led educational programs and special events, and supports the development and distribution of educational materials. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who demonstrates initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external partners.
Job Duties- Coordinates and supports educational, training, and outreach events, including lectures, workshops, symposia, and community programs.
- Provides logistical support for in-person and virtual events, including scheduling, registration, venue coordination, and live support.
- Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders (faculty, staff, trainees) and external partners.
- Supports community speaking engagements and special events representing the Section of Gastroenterology.
- Assists with development, organization, and dissemination of educational and training materials.
- Researches and recommends best practices to improve program operations and event effectiveness.
- Works independently on moderately complex projects while managing multiple priorities.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting educational or training programs in an academic medicine or healthcare setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Graphic design experience a plus.
