What You Will Be Doing- Create and facilitate small‑group literacy sessions for K‑2 learners, ensuring phonics instruction is engaging, enjoyable, and tailored to individual needs.
- Modify teaching approaches on the fly in response to student cues, group proficiency levels, and real‑time engagement.
- Conduct motivational conversations with students to support their progress in adaptive literacy platforms and help them meet learning milestones.
- Track student performance using data from adaptive tools and apply insights to customize instruction for each group.
- Employ storytelling, humor, gaming metaphors, and positive feedback to sustain student effort and address learning resistance.
- Available to work on‑site at Next Gen Academy in Austin, TX.
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education, reading, or a related discipline.
- Certification in structured literacy methods such as Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or comparable evidence‑based phonics frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience providing small‑group reading instruction to K‑2 students or learners facing reading challenges.
- Proven capability to evaluate student reading proficiency and independently create differentiated learning plans.
- Genuine interest in video games and gaming culture, regardless of personal gaming experience.
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Working with usThis is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
