Job Description

This is a fully funded grant position for services in , ending August 3, 2027. Funding for future years is contingent on additional grant funding.

Reports To: Department Director

Job Goal:

Support the work of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) by assisting public school districts in the development and implementation of a TIA system that will increase the existing teaching talent pool as well as increase retention of the district’s instructional team. Specifically, this position will engage directly with the identified school districts by supporting the development of a strategic compensation system, developing and implementing the district’s TIA strategy, and engaging with districts around other state objectives developed to increase educator retention and recruitment.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree

Certification/Licensure

  • Principal or Mid-Management certificate
  • Texas Teaching certificate or related certificate/licensure
  • Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certification
  • Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) certification

Experience

  • At least three years of experience in central office leadership at the district level
  • At least three years of experience and expertise in implementing the Teacher Incentive Allotment or strategic compensation systems at the district or regional level
  • Experience working with talent and/or budget systems
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams
  • Experience in project management
  • Proficient in multiple data management systems and data processing platforms, including but not limited to Power Bi, e-School, Eduphoria, and Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS)
  • Experience engaging school community members
  • At least three years of experience working in human capital development at the district or regional level
  • Three years of experience in campus administration as assistant principal and/or principal
  • Three years of teaching experience in a traditional district and or charter school

Special Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate, in both verbal and written formats, with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Strong long-term planning and project management skills, including establishing outcomes, determining evaluative measures, and tracking progress
  • Knowledge of a variety of assessments, best practices regarding assessments, and Student Learning Objective (SLOs)
  • Knowledge and use of effective data protocols and systems
  • Ability to produce data analysis and visualization
  • Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration, facilitation, and management skills
  • Results orientation coupled with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent organization, coordination, and time management skills
  • Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity
  • Broad-based knowledge of school district leadership and administration
  • Superior presentation skills, including use of presentation multi-media and varied technology platforms
  • Ability to inspire and work well with campus and district leaders from all levels throughout the state
