JOB OBJECTIVE
A teacher develops curriculum and lesson plans, and presents those lessons to students, individually or in groups that facilitate active learning. They instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, track progress, and create reports to inform parents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan and prepare assigned courses.
- Conduct assigned classes at scheduled times.
- Demonstrate competence in classroom instruction.
- Implement the designated curriculum completely and on time.
- Plan and implement effective classroom management practices.
- Engage students in active, hands‑on, creative problem‑based learning.
- Provide opportunities for students to access and use current technology, resources, and information to solve problems.
- Provide opportunities for students to apply and practice what is learned.
- Engage students in creative thinking and integrated or interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Build students’ ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Maintain a safe, orderly environment conducive to learning.
- Comply with safety and supervision requirements for students inside and outside the classroom.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
PROFESSIONALISM
- Be punctual and available during official working hours.
- Comply with policies, standards, rules, regulations, and procedures of the school.
- Take precautions to protect student records, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Participate responsibly in the school’s improvement initiatives.

- Proven experience as a teacher.
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines, and willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years’ teaching experience in a Texas Public School.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred:
Valid Texas Certification in your area of instruction.
