Overview
We are currently seeking a Corporate Trainer, Leadership / Management / Supervisory Training, to advance the institution’s tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
The Opportunity
You are an innovative instructor comfortable in classroom or corporate settings. HCC’s Corporate College provides customized business/industry instruction with on-site workforce training. Classes can be scheduled during the day, at night or on the weekend; at the client’s worksite, online or at one of our facilities.
Your mission: Provide soft-skills training to corporate clients on an on-call basis, particularly in leadership, management and supervisory skills, diversity and other human resource issues.
Your work: Assess the client’s training needs with Corporate College staff. Develop and deliver training in one- to three-day classroom formats, using texts, handouts, class exercises and/or assessment tools. Continually update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain relevancy.

Essential duties and responsibilities- Provide training and/or consulting to corporate clients as needed.
- Assess training needs for clients in conjunction with Corporate College staff.
- Customize training content and format to fit client objectives.
- Provide instruction in soft skills such as leadership, supervisory skills, diversity, human resource issues, etc.
- Deliver training in 1- to 3-day classroom formats, using texts, handouts, class exercises or assessment tools.
- Update and revise course content and teaching methodology to maintain currency and relevance.
- Maintain familiarity with current texts and teaching aids and recommend adoption when appropriate.
- Actively seek ways to improve instruction.
- Attend scheduled meetings with client and Corporate College as requested, including Adjunct Faculty Orientation.
- Maintain accurate records (class schedules, student rosters, 3-day attendance and grade rosters); strict observance of procedures for ongoing consideration for other training assignments.
The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a specialized area. Level 1 certifications in courses (Leadership, Customer Service, etc.) are preferred. Non-certified candidates must be willing to be trained/certified upon employment.
Experience: Community college, university teaching, or corporate training experience is highly desired. Level 1 requires a minimum of three (3) years of corporate training/industry/technical experience. Up to 3 years of experience with HCC conducting corporate training is preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge in management, human resources, curriculum development, and ability to encourage critical thinking and problem solving. Knowledge of learning theory, leadership theories, and current developments in related fields. Ability to use current technology and to present innovative ideas for new curricula and programs. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with strong oral and written communication. Ability to train in a corporate environment and interact professionally with corporate clients.
Ability to customize training content and format to fit client objectives. Ability to produce professional handouts and presentations. Ability to meet deadlines for reports and paperwork.
