Overview

Duration:
School Year per contract (10 months plus additional summer days). Reporting to:
Director of Mission and Ministry/Principal. FLSA: exempt/contract.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday (participate in overnight retreats, mission trips, student evening events).

Hours:

7:45 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.

Faith, Community, and Dominican Charism

Ensure that the four pillars of a Dominican education—prayer, study, community, preaching—are developed and promoted among the school community. Develop an active faith community and model Christian values. Support prayer and spiritual formation within the student, faculty/staff, and parent communities. Uphold and implement the Dominican charism and the Houston Dominican Sisters' congregational goals. Demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion by honoring the dignity of each member of the St.

Agnes Academy community.

Job Purpose

The office of Campus Ministry is integral to the mission of St. Agnes Academy. In collaboration with the Director of Mission and Ministry and the Associate Directors of Campus Ministry, the Director of Campus Ministry nurtures spirituality and creates ongoing opportunities for faith development of students with an intentional focus on service and living faith, building an inclusive environment for students who might not otherwise be engaged in their faith.

Responsibilities
  • Develop the overall vision of the retreat program and oversee the planning and execution of retreats.
  • Serve as the primary administrator on each retreat by responding to critical issues and overseeing high‑level logistics.
  • Create the overall vision for the formation of the Dominican Preaching Team (peer ministry) and other leadership opportunities in campus ministry.
  • Design and facilitate ongoing faith development opportunities throughout the year, focusing especially on discipleship and sustainable faith among all students from the first moments of 9th grade through their experience es.
  • Coordinate all aspects of campus liturgy, including calendaring, communication with priests, selection of liturgical music, work orders, setup of Pro Presenter, beautification of the mass space, and preparation for the Eucharist.
  • Plan, organize, and attend student/parent faith events, in collaboration with the Director of Mission and Ministry, such as Father Daughter Mass/Brunch and Living Veritas:
    Mother/Daughter Evening of Reflection.
  • Educate the community on the elements of the Mass and ensure that both Catholic and non‑Catholic students and faculty feel welcomed in the liturgy.
  • Plan and schedule department presentations for Freshman Seminar to introduce new students to the Campus Ministry Team and campus formation opportunities and retreats.
  • Recruit and organize campus ministry parent volunteers and maintain communication with parent volunteers throughout the year.
  • Send community prayers as requested by faculty, staff, or administration.
Retreats, Conferences, and Mission Trips

Retreats, conferences, and mission trips are offered for students and faculty to deepen faith and build community. The Director attends and takes a leadership role in facilitating all retreats, ensures a smooth and powerful experience, and connects ongoing programming to these experiences. Responsibilities include developing and supporting student peer ministers, conducting regular audits of retreats and mission trips, and participating in conferences and mission trips necessary for the development of student leaders and the overall faith formation program.

Liturgy

& Prayer

All liturgy and prayer es should bring students, faculty, and staff to a deeper relationship with God. The Campus Ministry Department facilitates celebrations for all Holy Days of Obligation and major Dominican feasts.
