POSITION TYPE: 10-month

26-27 School Year
COMPENSATION:
Starting at $64,000 annually
26-27 STIPEND:
Up to $4,000 (Certification Required)
SIGNING BONUS:

YES Prep is also a TEA Teacher Incentive Allotment approved district. Teachers in eligible courses can earn up to an additional $32,000 a year if designated under TIA based on their performance on our Instructional Excellence Rubric and student growth for 5 years if they remain in the classroom.
This means that based on our teacher salary scale and TIA designation payouts, a TIA designated teacher could earn the following:
* 1 year of experience: $91,800
* 5 years of experience: $96,800
* 10 years of experience: $99,800
* 15 years of experience: $102,800

THE ROLE
* As a SpEd Dyslexia Teacher, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
* Providing targeted and high impact reading instruction for individuals or small groups of students with dyslexia using evidence-based methods
* Managing a caseload of students in Special Education who have dyslexia, including completing key components of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for students on your caseload
* Participating in all Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings for students with dyslexia as the Dyslexia ARD Representative.
* Reviewing MAP screening results, interpreting dyslexia testing results, and consulting with evaluation specialist for students in the evaluation process being tested for dyslexia
* Signing the Full and Individual Initial Evaluation for students newly identified with dyslexia
* Collaborating with Reading Language Arts teachers to support student growth and application of reading skills in their general education class
* Setting ambitious goals with your students and monitoring their progress while encouraging them through frequent and persistent feedback
* Tracking student growth and using data and feedback from coaches to ensure individual student growth
* Building transformative relationships with students and families by providing regular, and consistent, communication with parents via email, conferences or district-approved platforms
* Creating a physical environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
* Meeting regular deadlines for IEP preparation, progress reports, daily lesson plans, submitting grades, and work samples
* Completing compliance tasks that include but are not limited to: writing accurate, aligned, data-driven IEPs for students on your caseload; updating service logs; updating IEP progress reports, etc.
* Working on a team of teachers and leaders to provide consistency, support, and accountability to all students
* Working with content teams in Professional Development to norm on and improve student learning
* Conducting tutorials outside of regular class day to provide additional instruction and support to students
* Completing supervision duties on campus that support student safety including but not limited to morning duty, lunch duty, dismissal, detention, and after school duty
* Growing professionally in your craft of teaching by both receiving and giving feedback on a consistent basis from Special Education Manager and other members of the Leadership Team
* Persisting in the face of challenges, learning from mistakes, and setting a strong example of character for your students
