Summary:
Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School (SEASCS) is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled Math Teacher for Grades 5 8 who is passionate about developing strong mathematical thinkers rooted in logic, problem-solving, and critical reasoning. This position calls for an educator who understands the developmental needs of upper elementary and middle school students and who can foster a classroom culture that promotes inquiry, perseverance, and intellectual growth in mathematics.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach Math to students in grades 5 8, ensuring instruction aligns with school standards and curriculum goals.
• Design and deliver engaging lessons that emphasize:

  • Conceptual understanding
• Implement and adapt to a new or evolving math curriculum, demonstrating openness, flexibility, and collaboration.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, intellectual risk-taking, and academic excellence.
• Integrate instructional best practices to enhance learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure vertical alignment and academic continuity.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Actively support and participate in the Catholic life of the school, including prayer, liturgical celebrations, and faith formation activities.
• Maintain a well-organized classroom and accurate academic records.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience teaching math in grades 5 8.
• Strong background in teaching math through problem solving and critical thinking approaches.
• Experience with or openness to implementing a new math curriculum.
• Ability to adapt instruction based on data, feedback, and student needs.
• Strong classroom management skills rooted in respect, structure, and care.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth.
• Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and uphold the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
