Compensation: $60,000 - $68,000 per year

Middle School Science Teacher position at Houston Classical Charter School. Teaching science to grades 3-8 in a classical learning environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate an unwavering belief that all scholars can achieve their highest potential.
  • Foster an environment of intellectual curiosity by guiding scholars through the study of physical, earth, and natural sciences using a hands‑on, inquiry‑based approach.
  • Develop and deliver science lessons that emphasize inquiry, exploration, and the development of critical thinking skills.
  • Tailor instruction creatively to provide high‑quality, meaningful learning experiences.
  • Establish and uphold rigorous academic and behavioral expectations for all scholars.
  • Create rigorous, inquiry‑based lessons that foster critical thinking and exploration.
  • Quickly adjust lessons and teaching methods to promote academic and emotional growth.
  • Consider diverse learning styles when planning lessons, ensuring all scholars can engage fully.
  • Develop and sustain a clean, organized, and scholar‑centered classroom environment.
  • Embrace receiving and giving feedback to foster professional growth.
  • Participate actively in learning opportunities with colleagues, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Maintain impeccable attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Exhibit superior communication skills to engage with scholars, families, and colleagues.
  • Approach all tasks with dedication and diligence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Experience working with scholars in testing grades 3‑8 is preferred
  • Previous experience in educational or youth development settings is a plus
  • Exhibit integrity, self‑awareness, resilience, and perseverance
  • Ability to take and implement feedback swiftly
  • A strong commitment to the belief that all children can achieve their highest potential
  • Open to challenging the status quo and eager to work in a collaborative environment
  • Texas state certification or eligibility is preferred
