Full-timeJOB FAMILY - Administration Min: $15.20 Hrly Mid: $18.46 Hrly Max: $21.46 HrlyJOB SUMMARYServes as the liaison between school and parents, relaying the needs of one to the other; ensures that parent involvement regulations are met with meaningful and strategic actions to build parent capacity under this section of the law; advises and trains parents on how to address issues with the leadership staff in school meetings;

serves as a school-based intermediary contact for concerns and comments made by parents and community members; provides referrals for community-based services for families dealing with conditions that impact the academic achievement of their students; promotes sharing of power with parents as decision-makers; helps parents understand the educational system so they can become better advocates for their children's education; maintains parent resource center.EDUCATIONAssociates

degree from an accredited college or university, preferredEXPERIENCEA minimum of one year of work experience in a school-based setting.QUALIFICATIONSExperience serving as an advocate for children and parents

Strong public speaking and presentation skills

Self-motivated leader who can work independently as well as part of team Strong interpersonal skills

Strong knowledge of computers and fundamental technology

Understands and respects the diversity of families' economic, linguistic and cultural background and situations

Ability to host parent meeting off school site and in the local community and/or neighborhoods

Ability to speak eloquently to school and/or district leaders

Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekendsMAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESInstructional Program ManagementAssist with Parent Involvement and Parent Participation Activities Assist with organizing and implementing support services for parents and students Assist with parent involvement training sessions to help parents work with their children at home Assist with compiling materials and create files for documentation of compliance with Title I parent involvement components CommunicationProvide monthly tips, strategies, and ideas to parents Ask parents to evaluate parent involvement workshops and trainings Survey parents to assess the effectiveness of the school's parent involvement program Encourage parents to attend school-sponsored functions such as back-to-school night and parent-teacher-conferences Develop a program and information brochures designed to empower parents as advocates for their children at school and during parent-teacher conferences Community RelationsSupport the RYSS parent center at the school with information about parenting, community resources, school information, and policy, curriculum, etc.
