Purpose:
The Center for Educator Success is designed to transform educator talent pipelines by partnering with districts to reimagine a comprehensive approach to educator recruitment and retention. Reporting to the Officer of Secondary Education, the Assessment Manager will serve as a critical member of educator certification team, responsible for coordinating and managing the assessment and certification process in accordance with Texas Administrative code.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
* Master's degree from an accredited college/university required
* Texas Teacher Certification, required.

* Experience working in traditional or alternative certification programs, preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties
* Coordinate Assessment
Activities:
Plan, schedule, and manage certification exams, including logistics, resources, implementation, evaluation, and candidate communication.
* Develop Candidate Support Programs:
Design and lead study groups, tutoring, and workshops; recruit, coordinate, and evaluate tutors; provide direct tutoring as needed.
* Analyze and Monitor Data:
Review exam performance and program data to identify trends, gaps, and instructional next steps; monitor statewide data weekly; analyze usage of 240 Tutoring, Certify Teacher, and secure practice exams; develop data trackers to identify candidate strengths and needs.
* Collaborate with Stakeholders:
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to align assessment work with certification goals; communicate data trends and candidate needs through meetings and planning sessions.
* Advocate for Candidates:
Respond to candidate concerns, identify barriers, and advocate for targeted resources and interventions to support success.
* Identify Candidate Needs:
Determine individual strengths and growth areas through data analysis and evaluation; provide actionable feedback on practice exams and assignments.
* Provide Coaching and Tutoring:
Deliver individualized coaching aligned to exam competencies and evidence-based preparation practices.
* Teach Coursework:
Instruct content methodology courses and facilitate content-specific instructional days informed by data.
* Stay Current on Certification Requirements:
Monitor updates to Texas certification exams and TEA regulations; attend TEA webinars and communicate updates to candidates and staff.
* Develop Instructional Resources:
Collaborate with educators to design exam preparation materials, tools, and modules.
* Monitor Candidate Progress:
Track performance and growth, maintain RTI-style documentation, and provide ongoing support and motivation.
* Coordinate Advising Systems:
Lead advisor/advisee support structures, facilitate biweekly check-ins, conduct RTI meetings every 5-6 weeks, and maintain accurate progress and exam records in collaboration with the Compliance Manager.
* Ensure Compliance:
Support certification compliance, audits, and accreditation documentation aligned to state and program requirements.
* Support Team Development:
Facilitate professional learning on assessment best practices, assist colleagues, contribute to systems improvement, and represent CES at conferences and professional events.
* Field Supervision:
Serve as a Clinical Supervisor and mentor to support developing teachers.
* Program Support:
Assist with HCDE initiatives, including the Early Childhood Winter Conference and Scholastic Art and Writing programs.
* Professional Expectations:
Work a full 40-hour schedule, support departmental goals, demonstrate professional and ethical conduct, and perform other duties as assigned.
