Position: Non-College Work Study| Peer Mentor

Gator Success Institute Salary: $14.00 per hour

Description:

* Provides mentoring to students individually or in groups through presentations, workshops, outreach activities, and/or other programming focused on learning strategies and student support and services within the UHD Seminar

* Works closely with office staff and maintains confidentiality

* Performs administrative duties and supports Gator Success Institute events

* Co-facilitates student groups and/or workshops

* Leads and/or assists staff with student events, projects, and/or the use or development of new student success and student engagement materials

* Maintains up-to-date information on student services and resources

* Responds to student questions in a professional and timely manner

* Provides support to students in learning how to make good choices

* Assists with retention efforts of FTIC students and creates student caseload reports

* Assists students with registering for courses

* All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

* Ability to multitask and interact professionally with staff, faculty, and students

* Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

* Well-organized, responsible, punctual, and self-motivated

* Strong interpersonal skills with a professional attitude and appearance

* Effective verbal and written communication skills

* Commitment to providing excellent customer service

Qualifications:

* Must be a current UHD student with a minimum GPA of 2.5

* Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University
