You just might be the person we are looking for if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required for K-5 RLA or self-contained special education or general education classroom assignments
- ESL certification preferred for Math, Science, and Social Studies teaching assignments
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching or approved internship experience
- Physical ability to monitor student discipline and progress as required
- Physical ability to move around the room for formative assessments and group instruction

Instructional Strategies- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district’s curriculum program and demonstrate preparation using the district’s automated curriculum as required.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations and differentiation for student learning styles.
- Present subject matter in accordance with guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Collaborate with staff to plan and implement instructional goals, objectives, and best practices per district requirements.
- Design or adapt learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Plan and use instructional strategies, assessment, activities, materials, and technology that reflect accommodations for individual student needs.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed pursuant to IEP guidelines.
- Assist students in analyzing and improving study methods and habits.
- Consistently monitor student achievement through formal and informal assessment and use results to plan instruction.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of a KISD student.
- Manage student behavior and administer discipline per Board policies, administrative regulations, the Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct handbook, and IEPs.
- Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain open communication through conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Communicate information accurately and clearly.
- Model professional, ethical, responsible behavior aligned with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
- Articulate and support the campus and district mission and goals to stakeholders.
- Demonstrate awareness of district/community needs and initiate activities to meet identified needs.
- Use effective techniques for engaging parents and the community.
- Engage in and implement new learning from professional development activities linked to teaching assignments and district goals.
- Stay informed of state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Compile, maintain, and file required reports, records, and documents.
