The University of Houston Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing at the Sugar Land Campus and Katy Campus is seeking outstanding candidates for 9-month, research intensive Tenure-Track (TT) faculty positions. The applicant must have exceptional leadership, scholarship and excellence in teaching.

The University of Houston is a Carnegie Tier 1 public research university located close to major energy companies and the Texas Medical Center. Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States and has first‑rate recreational opportunities, excellent schools, and affordable housing.

Faculty responsibilities include research, ongoing curriculum development and evaluation; classroom and clinical instruction in the undergraduate and graduate programs using on‑site, simulation, online, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in college and university committees; engaging in research, service and academic advising. Faculty work collaboratively and support each other in a pleasant environment.

• Doctorate in nursing or related field required.
• Master’s degree in nursing from a professionally accredited school of nursing if the doctorate is not in nursing.
• Established research focus and peer reviewed publications.
• Candidate must possess unencumbered primary license as a registered nurse in Texas.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience is required.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience required.
