Primary PurposeParticipate in a semester-long or year-long student teacher resident experience under the guidance of a highly effective mentor teacher observing and learning in an on the job environment.
Qualifications- Enrolled in one of the following universities: UH-Main, UH-Teach Houston, UH-Downtown, Stephen
F. Austin State University, Rice University, Texas State University, University of Wyoming, Houston Christian University and Texas A&M University and working towards a teaching certification. - Accepted into the University Student Teacher Resident Program.
- Must be a current University student enrolled in one of the universities listed above; working towards teaching certification and in good standing with the university.
- Broad knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
- Computer literate. Ability to operate various office equipment (copier/fax machine).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with people effectively.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to lift and transport textbooks/materials to designated areas.
- Responsibilities and duties are identified in the University, College of Education Resident Job Description.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions Mental Demands- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
- This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.

- Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
