Purpose and Scope:
Provide learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment. Plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum to facilitate student learning.
CE Adjunct faculty are hired part‑time on a semester‑by‑semester basis and may teach a maximum of five classes per academic year. Classes are offered at various times and locations.
Essential Job Functions- Teach Electrocardiography courses at a variety of times and locations
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
- Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
- Use a course syllabus following institutional guidelines
- Meet with and advise students via appointments, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
- Evaluate students to measure progress toward course objectives and communicate results promptly
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and orientations
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned
- Mastery of course content
- Interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies
- Demonstrated leadership skills emphasizing collaboration, teamwork, and facilitation
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with diverse individuals

The work is sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving. No special physical demands are required.
Work Schedule and Conditions- Use of PC workstation, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment; classroom or lab environment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed
- Work performed in a climate‑controlled classroom/lab with minimal safety hazards
- Hours vary by class time; instructors must be present for all scheduled sessions and be available to students outside of instruction
- ACA EKG certification or equivalent
- At least three years of related job experience with advanced knowledge of telemetry, EKGs including 12‑Lead and Holter monitoring
- BCLS or ACLS Certification
- AHA CPR Certification
- RN or LVN License
$55.44 per contact hour.
