An opportunity is available for a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support students across a large school district in Houston, TX. This contract position involves working on-site with an itinerant caseload, providing specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students to help them achieve academic success and independence.

• Delivering hands‑on, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments across multiple school sites
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to adapt curriculum and materials
• Assessing student needs and progress, maintaining accurate documentation
• Traveling within the district to provide direct support and resource consultation
• Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services

• Current certification or license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Proven experience working as a TVI in a school environment
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology, braille, and orientation & mobility principles
• Ability to manage a district wide itinerant caseload and effectively travel between school locations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, educators, and families

32.5 hours per week
