Position: Director, College P-16

Job Summary

Provides leadership of Dual Credit through positive collaboration with high school principals at area ISDs for a particular service area. Collaborates with other HCC instructional and student services areas to provide support for the enrollment, registration, certification, and records processes at the college level. Assists the District-wide Director of P-16 initiatives in sustaining and monitoring of Early College High Schools.

Essential Functions
  • Provide leadership and direction for dual credit in the service area.
  • Ensure the implementation of procedures that guide the installation of Early College High Schools.
  • Oversee the operational budget.
  • Oversee the registration process for all dual credit students in the service area.
  • Coordinate special events involving community, college educators, and high school participants.
  • Ensure successful implementation of the recruitment plan for dual credit faculty.
  • Ensure the successful implementation of a marketing plan for dual credit.
  • Implement a recruitment plan for students.
  • Implement a plan for student and parental engagement.
  • Present orientation sessions for college faculty, ISD counselors, and high school students.
  • Direct building the college course schedule for each semester.
  • Oversee the offering of dual credit off‑site courses.
  • Attend the workplace regularly, report to work punctually, and follow a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite.
  • Complete all required training and professional development sessions.
  • Support the values of the College: teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College.
  • May need to travel between various HCC and partner locations.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree from accredited institution in academics or counseling required.
  • 5 years of working in a college environment in student services and/or teaching required.

Licensing & Certification

  • Valid Texas Driver License.

Working Conditions

General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
