Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Primary PurposeImplement the District instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated, aligning with District goals, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship (preferred)
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze student performance data
- Knowledge of lesson design and Professional Learning Communities
- Willingness to work in small learning communities
- Teach in accordance with staff assignment.
- Use effective teaching practices to ensure authentic student engagement and learning.
- Design effective lesson plans with immediate and long‑range goals and real‑world relevance.
- Select appropriate materials and activities; present subject matter clearly and engagingly.
- Coordinate and plan with team members; use technology to support instruction.
- Monitor and assess student performance through formative and summative assessments; analyze data to develop plans for student success.
- Implement the RTO process when appropriate; participate in professional learning communities.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning; manage classroom procedures and student behavior using positive discipline techniques.
- Support student welfare, supervise behavior and safety inside and outside the classroom, and collaborate with counselors, administrators, parents, and support staff.
- Teach students about school safety and emergency procedures.
- Participate in and support co‑curricular activities related to the subject area.
- Communicate regularly with parents about progress, behavior, and attendance.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records in the online gradebook and for attendance, materials, and funds; meet required record‑keeping formats and timelines.
- Exemplify professionalism; cooperate with staff and administrators; share work willingly; engage in continuous improvement and stay current through professional development.
- Adhere to the Texas Education Code of Ethics, District policies, and campus improvement plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
The role requires physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; travel within the district and statewide. Mental demands include problem solving, data interpretation, policy application, and effective oral and written communication under stress.
