Adjunct Instructor – Lifelong Learning and Adult Education Program
The Lifelong Learning and Adult Education (LLAED) program in the Department of Learning and Performance Systems is seeking multiple part‑time adjunct instructors to teach graduate‑level (master’s) courses and one undergraduate course on writing and speech communication for adult learners. Courses are taught online asynchronously over 15–16 weeks per semester.
Course Topics- Adult learning theory and practice
- Health care education for adult learners
- Distance education and instructional design
- Educational research and assessment in adult education
- Doctorate (Ph.D. or
D.Ed.) in Adult Education, Lifelong Learning, Educational Leadership, Instructional Design, Health Professions Education, or a closely related field. - Demonstrated commitment to excellence in online teaching, including the use of inclusive pedagogies and adult learning principles.
- Experience teaching adult learners in higher education, especially in asynchronous or hybrid online formats.
- Familiarity with Canvas or similar LMS.
- Ability to engage with students multiple times per week, provide timely feedback, facilitate online discussions, and support learner success.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, collaborative and student‑centered approach.
- Experience or interest in teaching courses for master’s students related to health care education, adult learning, adult development, instructional design, or distance education is highly desirable.

Positions are remote, part‑time, and offer flexible scheduling for working professionals and non‑traditional learners.
