Primary PurposeTo provide supplemental instructional support to Teachers of Emergent Bilingual students to build instructional capacity through professional development, modeling, observation, and debriefing protocols.
Qualifications- Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid educator certification and highly qualified status for the position advertised.
- Valid ESL Certification at the appropriate grade level.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
English proficiency (oral and literacy); bilingual preferred. - Multiple grade‑level experience preferred (middle and high school).
- Proficient in T‑TESS.
- Knowledge of Language Development and best practices for instructing ELLs.
- Instructional leadership skills and experience.
- Knowledge of the district’s Dual Language Program (middle school).
- Knowledge of the district’s ESL program.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, DMAC, Excel, and presentation platforms.
- Knowledge and ability to use a Learning Management System.
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years classroom teaching experience as a teacher of emergent bilinguals.
- Multiple grade‑level experience preferred.
- Deep knowledge of sheltered instruction.
- Experience with the Effective Schools Framework.
- Serve as instructional support for teachers of emergent bilinguals with planning, modeling, coaching, observations, and debriefing activities.
- Assist the ESL Specialist with progress monitoring to improve EB instruction and monitor intervention effectiveness.
- Collaborate with content specialists to serve as an instructional coach for ESL/EB teachers.
- Partner with District MLP specialist to align district and campus goals.
- Work cooperatively with campus leaders to meet the needs of EB students.
- Provide campus professional development as directed by the principal and district to address the needs of EB students.
- Attend district ESL meetings.
- Attend district professional development trainings for ESL leaders.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain appropriate technology competence for current and future needs.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Non‑Supervisor Personnel.
Mental, Physical and Environmental DemandsTools/Equipment: Standard office equipment, computer and peripherals.
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting.
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and mouse use; occasional reaching; may require climbing stairs and reaching overhead.
Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
Environment: Possible district‑wide travel; all campuses temperature controlled with hard‑surface floors; may work irregular hours.
Mental Demands: Frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
