The responsibility of the teaching faculty is to provide the learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and community. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum to facilitate student learning.
Essential Job Functions- Teach Drama courses at a variety of times and locations.
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
- Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
- Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
- Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
- Mastery of course content.
- Demonstrated leadership skills; style that emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and facilitation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people.

The work is sedentary. Typically sits comfortably; may include some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required.
Work Schedule and Conditions- Equipment includes PC workstation, calculator, phone, general office equipment, and discipline‑specific equipment.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
- Work performed in climate‑controlled classroom/lab environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
- Hours vary by class time; instructors must meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside instruction.
- MA or MFA degree in Drama or Theatre, or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Drama.
$55.44 per contact hour.
