Position: Life Skills Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Job Location and Compensation

On-site in Houston, TX – campuses in Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands (relocation assistance available). $100,000 annual salary paid weekly, with health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one.

The most meaningful support you can offer a student who achieved 99% of their target is to refuse to accept it as complete. If that expectation feels uncomfortable, this position is not the right fit. If it energizes you because you understand that maintaining high standards demonstrates belief in a student's capability, continue reading. Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in roughly two hours using adaptive software.

No traditional lectures or textbooks.

Your role covers what technology cannot: developing life skills in Pre‑K through 8th grade students—skills like public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You’ll spend half your time facilitating hands‑on workshops guided by structured frameworks and narrative techniques. The remaining time is dedicated to individual or small‑group sessions where you monitor student progress via Coachbot analytics within adaptive learning platforms and challenge them to reach 100% of weekly objectives.

Mastery is validated through Test2

Pass assessments rather than participation metrics.

During your first year, you’ll manage a student cohort and internalize Alpha’s methodology: life skills workshops, motivational coaching, and mastery-based evaluation. Once you demonstrate the ability to guide every student to 100% goal attainment while maintaining satisfaction ratings above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes available—a role where you mentor fellow Guides while remaining actively engaged with students. Top performers in this position don’t merely impact individual trajectories;

they influence campus‑wide culture and operations.

If your background includes years of coaching, counseling, or mentoring young people and you’ve wanted to eliminate traditional instruction in favor of pure developmental support, this opportunity is designed for you.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one‑hour life skills workshops for Pre‑K through 8th grade students covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and feedback exchange (project‑based and hands‑on).
  • Conducting daily individual and small‑group coaching sessions to review student progress in adaptive learning platforms (via Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive them toward 100% weekly goal completion.
  • Evaluating and administering Test2

Pass assessments to verify genuine mastery of each life skill rather than mere participation.
  • Adjusting your coaching approach across diverse age groups, from Pre‑K learners requiring energetic and kinesthetic engagement to 8th graders needing direct accountability and candid conversations.
  • Cultivating authentic connections with each student to build trust that allows you to coach through challenges including resistance, distraction, and insecurity.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering lectures or traditional academic content (core subjects are learned through adaptive applications, not instructor‑led teaching).
  • Creating lesson plans or curriculum materials from the ground up (Alpha supplies life skills frameworks; your responsibility is executing them with energy and narrative skill).
  • Handling parent communication or administrative school tasks (Campus Leads manage those areas; your focus remains on student development).
  • Grading assignments or preparing students for standardized tests (these elements are absent from Alpha's model).
  • Operating independently (you're integrated into a campus team including Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who provide feedback and mutual accountability).
