Title: Academic Intervention Specialist
Job Type: Full-time

FSLA: Exempt
Schedule: 7:30 - 3:45 Monday to Friday, August - May
Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the AIS will assist students in meeting instructional goals and objectives through individualized support, classroom collaboration and intervention.

- Ensures that the mission and values of the Academy are upheld in all interactions.
- Gives witness to integrity and respect while representing Incarnate Word Academy in the broader community.
- Engages and becomes part of the Incarnate Word Academy community.
- Serves all IWA families with compassion and respect.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce concepts and study skills and encourage students to advocate for themselves.
- Supports the implementation of evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions in the classroom
- Assesses students' academic performance using formal and informal data
- Maintains good record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance. Track and analyze student academic data to monitor progress and identify areas of concern.
- Assists students in developing executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, and study strategies.
- Assists students with learning differences in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, and achievement of objectives.
- Participates in Catholic Accommodation Plan and serves as resource for the student evaluation team as needed.
- Collaborates with the counselors, department chairs, and the Dean of Academics to set and achieve goals.
- Participates in evaluations for the admissions of students with specific accommodations.
- Reports regularly to the principal on student progress, parent concerns, and teacher support.
Qualifications
- Master's degree, Curriculum and Instruction
- Certified teacher
- Prior experience working with low-performing students in Math
