Job Title

Adjunct Faculty, Wastewater Technician – Continuing Education (Part‑Time)

Location

Job Overview

In this role, the instructor will plan, develop, and teach courses in water and wastewater operations, production, distribution, and treatment to support student learning and the educational mission of Lone Star College.

Responsibilities
  • Teach water and wastewater operations courses at various times and locations.
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of material.
  • Submit required reports and forms in a timely manner.
  • Utilize course syllabi consistent with institutional guidelines.
  • Meet with and advise students as needed via appointments, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
  • Evaluate students to measure progress toward course objectives and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The work is sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving automobiles. No special physical demands are required.

Work Schedule & Conditions
  • Use of PC workstation, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
  • Work performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal safety hazards.
  • Hours vary with class schedules; instructors must be available to students outside of class instruction.
Required Qualifications
  • Trade school completion.
  • At least 3 years of documented experience in water or wastewater technology (or teaching welding).
  • Current Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Class C License or higher in Water Operation, covering groundwater and distribution.
  • Current TCEQ Wastewater Class C License or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current TCEQ Class C Surface Water License or higher.
Salary

$55.44 per contact hour.
