ESS Clinical is seeking a dedicated and passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to support students within Harmony Public Schools.

Pay starting at $60/hr W2

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Conduct assessments and assist in determining educational needs and appropriate accommodations.
  • Develop and implement IEP goals and specialized instructional plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists, educational audiologists, interpreters, and classroom teachers.
  • Support student access to curriculum through accommodations, assistive technology, and communication strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and provide recommendations regarding educational programming.
  • Educate and support school staff regarding best practices for serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Foster self-advocacy, communication skills, and independence among students.
Required Texas Licensure & Certification Requirements

Candidates must possess:

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification (Deaf Education Certification) recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
  • Certification must be in good standing and maintained throughout employment.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education compliance requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, Education, or a related field preferred.
