Job Description

Primary Purpose

Facilitate and coordinate activities related to the admission, renewal, and dismissal (ARD) process enduring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas special education certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective and positive communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team-building skills
  • Knowledge of special education rules and regulations
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adjust to change in a positive manner

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years special education teaching experience
  • 3 years of team leader experience or the equivalent thereof

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate services for the electronic and eligibility folder management of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal process.
  • Provide assistance and leadership for campus team leaders.
  • Provide training on IEP development, instruction and compliance to comply with state and federal law.
  • Perform random periodic checks of compliance at the campus and district level in conjunction with the Director of Special Education Programs.
  • Assist with the revision of Operating Guidelines as needed.
  • Assist with answering campus questions relating to the ARD process.
  • Develop and disseminate a variety of communication tools to keep staff, students, parents, and the community up to date on activities and other related information about special education (including but not limited to FAQs, newsletters, flyers, emails, etc.).
  • Coordinate data management to ensure compliance (PEIMS, eSped, etc.).
  • Provide monthly data reports to the Director of Special Education Programs.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local special education requirements.
  • Exhibit CCISD Core Values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
  • Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
  • Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.
  • Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  • Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  • Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications.
  • Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.
  • Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  • Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  • Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  • Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  • Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  • Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

Varied working environment; frequent district-wide travel; moderate standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing; performing restraint techniques with students when necessary
