Southeast Elementary AERO Tutor – (YES Prep Southeast Secondary students only)

10-month hourly, Part-time

August 2026

$12/hour (Grant-funded through 2027)

As a YES Prep employee, you will tutor elementary students in reading who qualify for AERO before the start of the secondary school day, from 7:45-8:15 AM. Arrival time is 7:30 AM, Monday–Thursday on scheduled working days.

• Tutoring elementary students using the AERO Reading curriculum to address student needs in reading;
• Internationalizing, planning and delivering AERO lessons to students in small group tutoring sessions;
• Attending AERO training to increase expertise in the online platform;
• Assisting students in connecting reading skills from AERO to classroom instruction;
• Building meaningful relationships with elementary school students;
• Optional volunteering in AERO research activities to evaluate the effectiveness of the program (participating in CLI Research study – including video fidelity checks, completing surveys with feedback).

• Be a current YES Prep student;
• Be 16 years old or older;
• Documentation to show eligibility to work in the US;
• Strong ability to navigate web‑related applications and technology;
• On track to graduate;
• Meeting AP credit requirements;
• Consistently on time to school;
• Attendance is 96%;
• In compliance with SAT preparation requirements;
• Completed tutor agreement and guardian acknowledgement form.

• Experience working with elementary‑age children;
• Bilingual – Spanish or other language;
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and remain flexible;
• Demonstrating consistent positive interaction with peers and adults;
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback;
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress;
• Ability to work urgently in a fast‑paced and results‑oriented environment;
• Creates and maintains positive working relationships on a team and/or in a highly collaborative environment;
• A dedication to learn, grow, and develop as a professional in a highly collaborative environment.

Compensation – this position is a non‑exempt hourly position; $12/hour.
