Lecturer - Center Mexican American and Latino​/a Studies

The Center for Mexican American and Latino/a Studies (CMALS) at the University of Houston seeks applications for a part-time Lecturer. This is a non-tenure track position. Courses may be offered as face-to-face instruction or as a hybrid. The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.

The Center’s mission is to advance knowledge, promote critical thinking, and foster the value of service to the community. It involves designing a broad spectrum of public and scholarly programs. Located within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, CMALS has evolved into an academic unit with several major components: teaching, research and publications, recruitment and retention, leadership training, academic advising, and community service.

• Candidates with a doctoral degree will be given priority (undergraduate/graduate courses).
• Applicants with a Master’s degree may be considered (undergraduate courses).
• Preference will be given to candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials, have college or university teaching experience, or prior relevant industry experience.
