Plan and teach a program of study in accordance with the philosophy and curriculum of AISD. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Establish and communicate clear objectives. Employ appropriate instructional methods and materials. Continually assess students' accomplishments. Counsel with colleagues, students and/or parents on a regular basis. Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures. Assist in implementing policies and rules.
Maintain professional competence through in-service education. Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities.
- Bachelor Degree in any field
- Appropriate valid Texas Teacher Certification for the position or be enrolled in an alternative certification program and have passing, appropriate for position, TExES content scores.
- Must be able to speak, read and write Spanish fluently.
Probationary contract – 187 days plus 4 days of Alief U professional development for a teacher new to the district.
Minimum teacher starting salary is $67,100. Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.
