Primary PurposeAssist Speech Language Pathologists when working with Spanish speaking students and/or parents in the provision of speech language therapy activities.
Qualifications/Skills- Education/Certification:
Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment;
Educational Aide Certification. - Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Bilingual – fluent and literate in Spanish and English; background related to working with children and parents; ability to work and communicate with children and adults effectively.
- Instructional Support
- Adhere to Texas Education Agency and district policies and procedures.
- Assist in record keeping and clerical duties.
- Assist in preparation, use and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
- Assist with teacher planned activities, exercises and drills.
- Student Management
- Facilitate communication between SLP and bilingual students in the provision of speech language therapy.
- Other
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Act as interpreter as needed.
- Travel to site(s) as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
