Position: Academic Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

On‑site in Houston, TX – campuses located in Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands (relocation assistance available). The position offers $100,000 USD annual compensation (approximately $50 USD/hour, paid weekly) and comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage beginning day one.

About Alpha

Alpha School uses adaptive AI‑driven platforms to deliver core academics in two hours a day, freeing time for hands‑on, passion‑driven learning and life‑skill development.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one‑hour life‑skill workshops for Pre‑K through 8th grade students covering public speaking, focus, teamwork, and constructive feedback (activity‑based and experiential).
  • Conducting daily individual and small‑group coaching sessions where you analyze each student’s adaptive learning app performance (via Coachbot analytics), set objectives, and challenge them to achieve 100% of weekly completion.
  • Overseeing and assessing Test2

Pass evaluations to verify authentic life‑skill mastery rather than mere participation.
  • Adjusting coaching approaches across diverse developmental stages, from energetic movement‑based engagement for Pre‑K learners to direct conversation and accountability for 8th graders.
  • Cultivating authentic connections with each student to establish trust that enables effective coaching through resistance, distraction, and uncertainty.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering lectures or conventional academic instruction – core academic content is learned through adaptive applications, not through direct teaching.
  • Creating lesson plans or curriculum content from scratch – Alpha supplies life‑skills frameworks.
  • Handling parent communications or administrative school functions – campus leads manage those areas.
  • Evaluating homework or facilitating standardized test preparation – these elements do not exist in this environment.
  • Operating independently – you function within a campus team that includes Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who share feedback and maintain mutual accountability.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
