Summary
Responsible for directly tutoring individuals by asking and answering questions and demonstrating examples relating to the subject.
Responsibilities- Tutor developmental math and workforce students in any setting except online.
- Tutor college‑level transfer courses in supplemental instruction model only.
- Ask and answer academic questions, using examples relating to a particular subject.
- Provide analytic and diagnostic services for students increasing affective work results.
- Process new students assuring individuals’ learning needs are met.
- Provide support services required during semester.
- Evaluate and recommend tutoring materials.
- May tutor in other developmental areas under the supervision of a Tutor II or Faculty Tutor.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Some college credit hours preferred. Applicant must have completed at least one college course in the subject area being tutored with a grade of
A. - Experience:
One year work experience in a post‑secondary institution tutoring setting preferred. - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to perform successfully in a large multicultural environment.
- Well organized, task‑oriented and flexible.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
