Tenured​/Tenure-Track: Associate Professor or Full Professor in Robotics

Position

Associate Professor or Full Professor in Robotics – Full‑time, 9‑month faculty position at the start of Fall 2026 in Houston, TX.

• Maintain a high-impact, externally funded research program in robotics to address challenges in human health.
• Teach courses to medical and graduate students.
• Mentor graduate students and medical students in research and innovation.
• Collaborate with engineering and medical faculty to integrate engineering with medicine in research and teaching.
• Collaborate with clinicians, industry partners, and multidisciplinary teams to translate research into practice.
• Contribute to the department and profession through service activities.

Required:

• Medical degree (MD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in robotics or a closely related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science). Equivalent clinical MD candidates with a strong record of robotics innovation, translation, and deployment in clinical settings are also strongly encouraged.
• A strong record of impactful research with evidence of external funding.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineers, clinicians, industrial partners, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated interest in translational or clinically relevant robotics research.
