Job Description Summary / TWC Summary
- Responsible for functions related to teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses; advising students; serving on dissertation committee; engaging in scholarly activities in areas relevant to the department; and assuming departmental and college committee responsibilities.
Essential Duties Summary
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level research methods in Administration of Justice, both online and face-to-face. Teach undergraduate and graduate-level statistics in Administration of Justice, both online and face-to-face, including master's-level statistics and research methods courses. Advise students who major or minor in Administration of Justice and supervise theses and dissertations, particularly those employing quantitative or mixed-methods designs. Develop and maintain an active research agenda in contemporary topics in criminal justice or the administration of justice, with a strong emphasis on data-driven justice solutions, criminal justice measures, and policy implementation, including the pursuit of extramural funding.
Participate in and develop partnerships with local, regional, national, and international scholars and practitioners, and criminal justice agencies, and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. Serve on departmental, college, and university committees and contribute to other professional and service activities as assigned.

Hiring Range - $59,972.32-$77,963.00
Education
- Required:
An earned Ph.D. degree from an accredited college/university in Criminology;
Criminal Justice;
Administration of Justice; or closely related field. (An earned J.D. degree is insufficient for this appointment, even with teaching and administration experience in criminal justice.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- The following are required of all candidates who have not been awarded a Ph.D:
Ability to:
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level research methods in Administration of Justice in both online and face-to-face formats. Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level statistics in Administration of Justice in both online and face-to-face formats. Ability to teach Emergency Management courses. Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.
Work Experience
- Experience:
Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to secure external grant funding and to supervise graduate students in support of grant-funded research initiatives. A documented record of strong academic and workplace or laboratory judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills is highly desirable. Evidence of teaching effectiveness—such as student evaluations, peer reviews, or supervisory assessments—is also highly desirable. While not required, applicants with expertise in forensic science—such as crime scene investigation, forensic analysis, forensic technology, or applied forensic research—are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly when their work addresses contemporary issues in criminal justice or the administration of justice.
