Peer Advisor (Part Time) - Central College (Temporary)
Supports the assigned department by performing a variety of tasks which help advance the department's mission and enhance student experience. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide exceptional customer service as a primary point of contact for students, parents, and campus community members.
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, online platforms, and in person.
- Assist with student orientation events and workshops, engaging with students and families individually and in groups.
- Guide students in navigating campus resources, services, and academic processes.
- Participate in informational panels, presentations, and outreach activities related to student support and advisement.
- Serve on student advisory or recruitment boards, assisting with interviews and program initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops to support students' academic and career exploration.
- Contribute to newsletters, announcements, and other communications.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, mailing, data entry, and office support.
Qualifications to perform this job successfully include the following. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred. - Experience:
1 year general office experience preferred. - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Able to deliver high quality work results.
- Positive attitude and energy.
- Able to work as an effective and productive team member.
- Able to work every day; 8 to 19.5 hours weekly.
- Able to work weekends and evenings as required during the academic year.
